Mindfulness in 5 Simple Snapshots

Updated: Sep 26, 2019

Mindfulness is a state of being fully conscious or aware of something, be it the present moment, or breath, thoughts, actions, reactions, consumption, where we travel, how we live, what we support, and the choices we make. It makes us better attuned to ourselves, gentler, less passive, more sensitive to out environment, and more sensitive to other beings and life forms.

Mindfulness has many physical and mental benefits. It reduce stress, lowers blood pressure, anxiety, discord and depression. It meads heart related issues, improves sleep, helps with pain and anger management, addictions, and various other issues. It also helps with obesity, eating disorders, weight loss and healthier food choices. Regular practice enables us experience life in its richest, most intense form. When we practice being in the moment is when we truly savour and enjoy all that it entails.

Mindfulness practice has nothing to do with any religion, and can be practiced by people with any belief system. It is secular, easy to incorporate within ones daily routine, and follows no rigid systems or boundaries. In fact, you can be practice mindfulness just about anytime and anywhere -- even while walking, or sipping a coffee. If you have not tried it yet, I urge you to do so. Give it a shot for two weeks and discover its benefits, both subtle and obvious, for yourself. It is helpful to start the practice with the help of a mindfulness coach or guide, as there is too much misinformation flying around, and that could impair your experience of this simple, yet marvellous practice.

Love,

Bindiya
