Understanding the nature of the mind
It's the nature of the mind to think. Thoughts arise like waves in the ocean, you can't stop them, but you can accept them as the inherent nature of the mind. But if you drop down, still the mind, go further down, it's like going many feet under the waves, where it is all gentle, quiet, present and awake. So, you don't have to shout anything down or out, you have to dive deeper into yourself, to just notice...observe, without judgement. That is mindfulness, the awareness that arises from paying attention to the present moment, without judgement or attachment of any kind. It's simply being a neutral observer.
