Mindfulness is finding  beauty in your surroundings

There is so much chatter about mindfulness, but what are the various things that comprise living mindfully everyday? How do you inhabit the moment? One simple way is to just be aware...mindful...of what is around you. We often take our surroundings so much for granted that we can seldom recall details of things that we see on a daily basis. We may take the same route to work, but may not even notice the places we pass, or the permanent fixtures, or people on the way. We may climb the same flight of steps without ever knowing how many steps we climb. So take one step at a time. Start by being more mindful of your surroundings. Look, notice, find beauty, or interesting little details that exist all around you. Every moment is a sum total of sights, sounds and stimuli. Inhabit each moment. Really feel it, experience it, and see how much richer and invigorating your life becomes.
